Then we headed off to the elementary school, where it was a complete madhouse of course! Normally, Damon's school is locked down like Ft. Knox... and parents generally aren't even allowed in the front door with kids in the morning. But, luckily, today they welcomed us to escort our babies to their classrooms.
Damon was his usual grumpy, nervous, anxious self. So we quickly said goodbye and I wished him a good day, and then Avery and I headed back out to the car.
Oh, and of course I was wrong about the "Ms. Johnson" thing. I knew I shouldn't have assumed that his teacher would be female. He's not. Damon's teacher is, in fact, a MR. Johnson.
Today the kids have an early dismissal... so we'll be going BACK to the madhouse in just a few hours to retrieve our boy. Hopefully he'll have only good things to report!

I love that he has a male teacher--I hear that boys do SO MUCH BETTER with men as their teachers when they are in the lower grades.
I hope he has a great day.
I was wondering if a male teacher would be even better for Damon, so I'm happy to hear that, Maria!
He's home from his first half-day of school... and the big report I got was, "it was alright."
He did say that Mr. Johnson seems nice. So that's a good sign!
Im glad he had an "alright" day...that is way better than his first day when he first moved here! We are off to a good start!
Give both the wunderkids a big hug from me. . . Luv Avery's (aka Emma's) "nametag." . . . Ouch on the Manteacher!! I would have been terrified. My first male teacher was in the 6th grade! Should be interesting.
Oh, the best teachers I had were males! Glad his 1st day was alright!
